Venus Haircare has trained salon owners and stylists on its refreshed product range as part of efforts to help hair professionals better understand and recommend its products.
The workshop, held today at Hotel La Grande, brought together salon professionals who work directly with consumers and advise them on hair care and styling.
The training follows the recent rebrand of Venus, which the company said was informed by research involving consumers and hair care professionals.
Phina Baddie, Beauty and Haircare Specialist at PZ Cussons, said the rebrand was based on feedback from consumers and stylists about their hair care needs.

“The Venus rebrand did not start in a boardroom. It started with research. We listened to consumers and stylists about what they need from their hair care, and the refreshed Venus is our response to what people asked for,” Baddie said.
During the workshop, stylists took part in live demonstrations and product sessions focused on how to use the Venus range for different hair types and styles.
The products covered included Venus Moisture Seal 5-in-1 Strengthening Oil Blend, which is designed to support moisture retention and hair strength; Venus Anti-Dandruff 2-in-1 Scalp Care, which focuses on scalp health; Venus Finishing Mousse for hair definition and finishing; and Venus Braid Spray for maintaining braided and protective styles.
Cynthia Abuti, Haircare Brand Manager at PZ Cussons, said the workshop was aimed at giving salon professionals practical knowledge they can use when advising clients.

“Salonists are the people our consumers trust most when it comes to their hair. We wanted them to experience the range first-hand, ask questions and leave confident to recommend Venus to their clients. This workshop is about working with them, not just talking at them,” Abuti said.
The workshop also highlighted a change in the distribution of PZ Cussons products in Uganda. Growwell Uganda Limited is now the official distributor of PZ Cussons brands in the country, a move expected to improve the availability of Venus and other products for salons, retailers and consumers.

The company also highlighted the role of salons as a source of income, particularly for women and young entrepreneurs, saying that equipping stylists with product knowledge can help improve the services they offer and support their businesses.
Venus Haircare said it will continue engaging salon professionals and consumers through further activities in the coming weeks.
