Iconic whisky brand Johnnie Walker is once again turning the spotlight on the remarkable achievements of women through its signature She Walks Mentorship Programme, scheduled for this Friday, July 4, at the Kampala Serena Hotel.

The brand has previously hosted similar celebrations for women in media, marketing, and golf. This Friday’s She Walks edition will focus on women in leadership, bringing together a powerful network of trailblazing women across different sectors, ranging from those in corporate boardrooms to creative industries.

Held under the theme “Purposeful Strides: Scaling Hills in Heels,” the invite-only evening promises to be one of elegance, inspiration, and world-class whisky, with a line-up of thought-provoking discussions, engaging mentorship moments, and, of course, celebratory toasts to the strength, resilience, and progress of women.

Delivering the keynote address will be Ms. Lynda Biribonwa, Chairperson of the Board of Directors at the Petroleum Authority of Uganda. With over 23 years of experience in environmental, health, and safety leadership, Lynda’s career has been defined by purpose, progress, and a commitment to sustainable development. She brings a wealth of insight into governance, energy, and inclusion, making her the perfect voice to anchor this celebration of women’s leadership.

Speaking about the event, Christine Kyokunda, Brand Manager for Johnnie Walker Uganda, emphasised the brand’s commitment to creating spaces where women’s stories are honoured and amplified.

“Women have achieved remarkable feats and deserve to be celebrated,” said Kyokunda. “She Walks is about more than just one evening; it’s about creating meaningful conversations and collaborations that push women forward. This Friday will be a night of empowerment, purpose, and raising a glass to the phenomenal women shaping Uganda’s future.”

She added that the programme is part of Johnnie Walker’s broader Society 2030 agenda, a commitment to championing inclusivity, progress, and inspiration through authentic partnerships.

Building on the success of its inaugural launch in March last year, where the brand kicked off Women’s Month with an electrifying celebration, She Walks continues to evolve as a platform that not only highlights but also supports women in their personal and professional journeys.
