Speke Resort Munyonyo has celebrated Ugandan para swimmer Husnah Kukundakwe following her historic performance at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, where she won a silver medal and set a new national record.
Kukundakwe, one of Uganda’s leading para swimmers, won silver in the women’s 100m breaststroke SB8, adding another major achievement to a career that has seen her represent Uganda at international competitions.
The 19-year-old swimmer has competed at multiple major events, including the Paralympic Games and Commonwealth Games, and has built a reputation as one of Uganda’s most successful para athletes. She has also broken national records in para swimming and has continued to compete at the highest level despite being born with a limb difference.

Following her Commonwealth Games achievement, Kukundakwe visited Speke Resort Munyonyo and presented her historic medal to the resort’s management.
“We were honoured to welcome Commonwealth Medalist Husnah Kukundakwe as she presented her historic medal to our team. Having been part of her journey through our health club facilities, we are delighted to celebrate this remarkable milestone with her,” the resort management said.

Speke Resort has supported Kukundakwe through access to its health club facilities, which provide a space for swimming and physical training.

The resort, located on the shores of Lake Victoria in Munyonyo, is one of Uganda’s major hospitality and conference facilities. It has 477 rooms and suites, 19 conference halls and five outdoor event spaces, making it a destination for accommodation, business events, leisure and wellness.
Its recreational facilities include swimming pools, a fully equipped health club, gym and spa services, while its location along Lake Victoria also provides opportunities for guests to enjoy the lakeside environment.
