BOU’s Bagyenda linked to properties worth billions

Bank of Uganda’s Director for Supervision Justine Bagyenda is in the news lately for her role in the Crane Bank saga.

BOU is suing former Crane Bank owner, tycoon Sudhir Ruparelia for allegedly siphoning money of the bank. However public opinion is that if this is true, then it displays incompetence on the part of top BOU staff including governor Tumusiime Mutebile and Byagenda. MPs like Nandala Mafabi and Mohammad Nsereko want the pair investigated, prosecuted and arrested over incompetence and possible corruption and fraud.

On the heels of that, a source has just revealed to Matooke Republic the extent of Bagyenda’s wealth, valued in billions.

Apparently she is linked to properties in the plush suburbs of Naguru and Bukoto plus the upcoming Kungu area worth several billions yet she earns a gross monthly salary of Shs32m.   

The source tells us that these properties are in her children’s names and her apparently up for sale.
