Nsenene vendor on Uganda Airlines
On Friday, a video of a man hawking grasshoppers (Nsenene) on Uganda Airlines plane went viral on social media. Paul Mubiru, the nsenene vendor was filmed on a Dubai-bound Uganda Airlines plane at Entebbe International Airport shouting “It’s 10,000 shillings.”
The video attracted mixed reactions from members of the public with many describing the act as being substandard and demeaning of the airline status.
Last evening, Mubiru apologized to passengers, Uganda Airlines management and Ugandans at large, saying he recorded the video for TikTok deeds.
“I recorded the video in question not to tarnish or ashame the Airline, the country or passengers on board but for comedy purposes specifically TikTok deeds,” reads Paul Mubiru’s apology in part.
Before his apology, the Minister of Works and Transport Gen Edward Katumba Wamala had already today ordered the suspension of a section of Uganda Airlines staff that allowed Mubiru on the plane.
Glamour as Susan Makula introduces Pastor Bugingo to her parents
Susan Nantaba Makula finally introduced her long time lover Pastor Aloysius Bugingo to her parents.
The colourful kukyala ceremony took place in Kyebando, Kampala on Friday and was attended by close friends and family amidst tight security.
Meanwhile, Bugingo is still seeking to divorce his wife Teddy Naluswa. On April 29, Justice Joseph Murangira directed Bugingo to first consider the option of mediation before the case should be heard. Earlier this month, a source privy to the mediation said the process has hit a dead end. Teddy had made several attempts to have the matter resolved but she has not been successful.
High court Family Division has since set January 25th, next year to hear the case.

Kiplimo breaks world half marathon record in Lisbon
Not only did Uganda’s Jacob Kiplimo take first place at the Lisbon Half Marathon on November 21 2021, he also took 1 second off the world record time set by Kenya’s Kibiwott Kandie in Valencia last year.
21-year-old Kiplimo ran the fastest half marathon (male) ever, completing the 13.1 miles (21 km) in just 57 minutes 31 seconds.
Earlier this year, Kiplimo finished third in the 10,000m and fifth in the 5000m at the Tokyo Olympics.
Doctors reject Museveni’s plea to call off strike
The Uganda Medical Association (UMA) on Wednesday held a meeting with President Yoweri Museveni aimed at resolving the impasse after the doctors announced a strike on Monday.
Despite meeting with Museveni, UMA noted that they would not call off the strike until the government honours its part of the agreement.
In a statement released on Wednesday signed by UMA President Samuel Odongo Oledo and Herbert Luswata indicated, “we partly discussed several issues that include medical supplies, disease prevention, employment of doctors and ultimately enhancing health workers including salary enhancement and other benefits. We are waiting for a commitment from the government implementation plan and tangible deliverables. Until then we maintain the status quo regarding industrial action,” the statement indicated.
The move has left thousands of patients across the country stranded at health facilities as they cannot access full medical care.
Sheikh Muhammad Galabuzi is the new Supreme Mufti
Earlier this week, officials at Kibuli Mosque announced Sheikh Mohammed Galabuzi as the New Supreme Mufti replacing Sheikh Kasule Ndirangwa.
Galabuzi was sworn in as the new Supreme Mufti on Friday at Kibuli alongside his two deputies; Sheikh Ibrahim Ntanda and Sheikh Mahad Kakooza.
In April this year, Sheikh Siliman Kasule Ndirangwa resigned from his position with immediate effect.
