“You should never cry for a man who is still renting,” Suzan Makula tells women to know their worth

Pastor Aloysious Bujjingo’s wife, Suzan Makula Bujjingo has encouraged women to know their worth, urging them to prioritise personal growth and stability rather than making their happiness entirely dependent on romantic relationships.

Speaking at the Beauty Beyond The Scars event, Makula, who is a mother of two, questioned why some women become deeply emotionally invested in men who have not established permanent homes.

“Let’s uplift ourselves. Show your worth. Why would you cry for someone who’s still renting? Let’s cry for people who have built houses,” she said.

Makula clarified that her remarks were not intended to belittle men who rent. Instead, she said women should consider stability when choosing partners and building relationships.

She argued that renting can sometimes mean a person is able to move frequently, which may make it difficult for a partner to feel a sense of permanence or security in the relationship.

“Some women have only a key to the man’s house and act like they are holding his heart, yet he’s still renting. You won’t heal that way,” Makula said.

She encouraged women to invest in themselves, understand their value and avoid making their emotional wellbeing entirely dependent on a partner.

Makula said women should focus on building their own lives and pursuing personal growth instead of losing themselves in relationships.
