Health Ministry confirms 96 new COVID-19 cases, three deaths, recoveries rise to 2,256

Today on Sunday September 13 2020, the ministry of health has confirmed 96 new COVID-19 cases. This takes the cumulative total confirmed cases in Uganda to 4,799.  

The breakdown of the new cases is: 88 contacts and alerts: Kampala (33), Buikwe (28), Jinja (4), Soroti (4), Lira (3), Kibuku (2), Mbarara (2), Terego (2), Tororo (2), Amolatar (1), Arua (1), Iganga (1), Masindi (1), Ngora (1), Moroto (1), Pader (1) and Wakiso (1).

Seven are truck drivers; Malaba (3), Bunagana (2), Elegu (2) and one returnee from DRC.

 Despite the spikes in the number of infections, more patients are continuing to win battle against the deadly Coronavirus. 2,256 patients have so far recovered from the virus in Uganda.

Nevertheless the number of COVID-19 related deaths is slowly increasing as the ministry has today reported three COVID-19 from Kampala. This brings the total COVID-19 deaths to 55.
