Police have arrested 255 suspects during coordinated operations conducted on Monday across Wakiso District and parts of Kampala.

The raids targeted Nansana West Ward, Kyebando and Gganda in Wakiso Sub-county and Nansana Municipality; Kitukutwe Zone, Kiwologoma and Namugongo Nsawo Zone in Kira Municipality; Kyanja under the Kira Road Policing Area; and several identified crime hotspots in Kampala’s Central Business District.

According to police, the areas were singled out after intelligence reports indicated that they were being used as gathering points for individuals suspected of engaging in criminal activities that have been affecting residents.
