The controversial mobile money and social media taxes are up for discussion as Cabinet sits, Matooke Republic can confirm.

The said taxes have been subject of intense debate as both President Museveni and Finance Minister, Matia Kasaija conquered that the 1% Excise Duty on Mobile Money transactions was passed in error.

The Cabinet meeting follows a directive by the Speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Kadaga to the Prime Minister to ensure that the said taxes are discussed and harmonised.
