First Son and Land Forces Commander in the UPDF, Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has said that the Uganda People’s Defense Forces (UPDF) can easily put to order the ‘indsciplined’ officers that participated in a coup in Guinea.

Last week heavy gunfire echoed around the capital of Guinea before Special Forces Colonel came out and confirmed that his unit had ‘Seized’ Guinea’s President Alpha Condé.

The senior presidential advisor for special operations says the UPDF can solve the puzzle in less than a day.

“If our Commander in Chief gave us instructions it wouldn’t take UPDF a day to discipline mutinous troops like the ones in Guinea-Conakry,” said Muhoozi in a tweet.

Speaking during an interview last week, President Yoweri Museveni condemned the coup d’état that happened in Guinea.

Museveni said coups were part of Africa’s problems in the 1960’s and they are of low value. He described the incident as ‘step backwards’.

He said the soldiers who ousted President Alpha Condé were wrong and should leave power immediately.
