Police in Gulu are investigating Cheyi Ben Angol for allegedly killing his daughter’s boyfriend. The victim is Okema Daniel, a 16-year-old student.

According to Fred Enanga, the 37-year-old father allegedly caught Okema red-handed with his daughter on February 24 at around 4am.

“The suspect learnt that his daughter had sneaked out of the house at night, he mobilised his accomplices, who included Rubangakene, Mugisha, Odongo Daniel, Komakech Daniel, and Nasur Bwambale, with whom they stormed the home of the suspect.

They recovered their daughter and brutally tortured the 16-year-old boyfriend to death. And thereafter he hanged his body to fake a suicide, then locked the house from outside with a padlock,” said Enanga.

Enanga stated that the father suspect was apprehended, while a major manhunt for his five co-suspects continues.

“We also urge members of the public to avoid such acts of violence and lawlessness and instead work within the law,” he said.
