Police have arrested Dominic Alinga, a priest at the Catholic parish church of Irir in Nakapiripirit, as the key suspect in the murder of Ngorok John Bosco, a 30-year-old employee of the Uganda Revenue Authority’s (URA) Domestic Tax Department.

According to the police spokesperson, ACP Rusoke Kituuma, on August 3, at around 1:50 AM, they received a report of a suspected murder along the road from Kitooro to Entebbe International Airport.

The victim, who had been stabbed in the neck and head by an unknown assailant, was rushed to a Grade B hospital by the police but was pronounced dead 20 minutes later.

Kituuma said that the police immediately launched an investigation and began tracking the suspect.

“The key suspect in this murder was arrested. He is Dominic Alinga, a priest at the Catholic parish church of Irir in Nakapiripirit,” said Kituuma, adding that Alinga had been suspended from the church by the bishop on allegations of stealing offertory worth Shs6 million.

He further stated that investigations into Alinga’s connection with the murder are still ongoing.

“Once complete, the police will determine whether to arraign him before the court,” he said.
