Police have arrested Godfrey Ddamulira, a traditional healer and resident of Kitaka Zone, Busega Parish in Rubaga Division.

The arrest came after security operatives raided his shrine in Busega and recovered 40 human skulls with name tags, two bottles of blood, suspected human bones, pieces of military attire, and a shoe, among other items.

Karim Walyabira, the leader of the National Traditional Healers and Herbalists Association, said that residents alerted him about Ddamulira, alleging he was involved in crime-related activities at his shrine.

He decided to alert the Nateete Police, who raided the shrine on Tuesday.

Upon arrest, Ddamulira told the security officers that he had been buying the skulls from a colleague for Shs100,000 each. Without mentioning the name of this colleague, he further stated that the skulls were obtained from Busoga.

However, the name tags on the recovered skulls bore Buganda region names such as Namuli, Nalumu, Muwanga, Kalondoozi, among others.

When asked why he was in possession of the skulls, he said he was using them “to treat his patients.”

Police later took him to his home in Kitemu for another search as they continue to hunt for his alleged associates.
