The annual Kaliisoliiso Dinner for the year 2026 was held on Friday, September 11, 2026, at Hotel Africana in Kampala, bringing together leaders, corporate organisations, development partners, artists and members of the public to mobilise resources towards completing and equipping the Nkozi Hospital Accident and Emergency Centre, an urgently needed facility along the high-risk Kampala-Masaka-Mutukula / Mbarara highway.

Once completed, the Accident and Emergency Centre is expected to enhance access to specialised emergency medical care for accident victims and other patients, particularly along the Kampala-Masaka highway.

I&M Bank Uganda Limited once again has joined the effort to support the completion of the Nkozi Hospital Accident and Emergency Centre through its participation in the 2026 Kaliisoliiso Dinner, reaffirming its commitment to initiatives that improve the wellbeing of communities across Uganda.

The event’s chief guest, the Katikkiro of Buganda, Owek. Charles Peter Mayiga, commended partners and supporters for contributing to the initiative and underscored the importance of road safety. He urged motorists and other road users to observe traffic regulations, avoid reckless driving and adopt responsible road-use practices to help reduce road accidents

“Road users must always exercise caution. I urge motorists to follow traffic rules and guidelines, avoid reckless and drink driving, and always wear seat belts. Do not put children in the front seats while driving, and avoid using mobile phones when behind the wheel,” the Katikkiro said.

I&M Bank was represented by a delegation led by Sam Ntulume, Executive Director and Chief Operations Officer and Annette Nakiyaga, Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications. The Bank’s support reflects its commitment to supporting initiatives that respond to pressing community needs, particularly those aimed at improving access to critical services and saving lives.

I&M Bank Executive Director and Chief Operations Officer, Sam Ntulume (middle), was in attendance.

“We are proud to support the Kaliisoliiso initiative because it presents an opportunity to contribute to a cause that can save lives and improve access to emergency healthcare. We believe that when corporates, communities and other stakeholders come together around causes that matter, they can create meaningful and lasting impact,” said Annette Nakiyaga, Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications at I&M Bank Uganda Limited.

The evening featured performances from leading Ugandan musicians like Afrigo Band, Jose Chameleone, Sheebah Karungi and Weasel, while Patrick Salvado led a lineup of comedians, keeping guests entertained and reinforcing the spirit of collective action behind the fundraising campaign.

Legendary artist Jose Chameleone performed at the dinner concert.

The proceeds raised will support the completion and equipping of the Accident and Emergency Centre, helping strengthen emergency response and healthcare services for communities served by Nkozi Hospital.
