At almost every comedy show, the music often competes with the comedy for the audience’s attention, with live artist performances and DJ sets sometimes becoming the evening’s biggest highlights.
But at ‘2 Kings One Mic’ show, on Friday, October 23rd, the spotlight stayed firmly on the headlining comedians- Patrick “Salvador” Idringi and Dr. Hillary Okello, as they delivered a night that proved just how entertaining comedy alone can be.
Held at the Kampala Serena Hotel, the I&M Bank powered show drew a sold out crowd for an evening built around humour, storytelling and the comic side of shared experiences of everyday life.
With a simple line up, beyond the main acts, the show had each performer to connect with the audience in their own way.
The evening was hosted by Dr. Mitch Egwang, who guided the audience through the programme and kept the energy flowing.
Janzi Band took to the stage first, setting the mood for the evening with popular renditions across different genres. Their lively performance warmed up the audience and got guests settled in.

Female stand up comedian Cotilda Inapo opened the evening, setting the tone with her signature humour and observations on everyday life. Her performance warmed up the audience and prepared the room for what would become a memorable night of laughter.
Okello Okello, who is also doubles as a film actor, was the next on the mic, and he sure did add another dimension to the line up, drawing on his stage presence and comedic style.

Then came Dr. Hillary Okello, whose signature storytelling and sharp observations on current affairs, social trends and everyday life quickly drew the audience in. Known for finding humour in ordinary situations, he turned familiar experiences into punchlines, building a connection with the crowd through his distinctive delivery and relatable narratives.
Salvador took over as the final act, bringing his polished delivery, energetic stage presence and well-timed humour on the stage. His jokes shifted comfortably between observations about everyday life and the kind of witty commentary that has earned him a loyal following across the continent over the years.

One of the evening’s most touching moments came when Salvador called for a special recognition of his mother, who was part of the audience.
Despite their years of experience and familiarity with live audiences, both headliners managed to make the show feel fresh. Their performances drew reactions from the crowd, with standing ovations reflecting the audience’s appreciation for the quality of the content they delivered.
The event was supported by I&M Bank Uganda Limited, as the official banking partner, alongside Uganda Waragi, SafeBoda, The Living Group, Aquafina, Pepsi, Euro Gold Refinery and Virah Forex Bureau.

For I&M Bank, the evening was an opportunity to be part of a different kind of customer experience
“Comedy has a way of bringing people from all walks of life into one room, sharing the same moment.
