Stanbic Bank injects Shs300m in Fufa Uganda Cup

The FUFA Uganda Cup has today attained a title sponsorship deal worth Shs300m from Stanbic Bank Uganda Limited. The deal will carter for prize money and other logistics that will assist in the organisation of the tournament for three years.

“We are proud to have found a partner (Stanbic Bank) with such a long and proud sporting heritage. The Uganda Cup is steeped in history having been played since 1971 and as FUFA we are excited to have found a sponsor who appreciates the history scale of the competition,” FUFA President Moses Magogo stated at the unveiling ceremony held at Nakasero this morning.

The sponsorship comes as a huge boost to the Shs50m that was allocated to the tournament off the Sports Broadcasting deal.

The Uganda Cup is  the second most prestigious competition in Uganda football.  It is played on a knock out basis. This annual competition is open for non league sides, registered clubs playing in all the five football divisions of  the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA).

 

At the event, Fufa also conducted competition’s round of 32 draws. Here are the fixtures.
