Over the weekend, FUFA president Moses Magogo attracted a mammoth crowd when he set foot in his home district of Buyende in a gesture of celebrating with the locals his recent administrative milestone as he was voted CAF Executive Committee member of the CECAFA region.

Keeping our eyes on the ground during the celebration, our sources have since gathered that Magogo’s surprise visit to his home village is beyond sports.

The source confirms that Magogo is set to twist his administrative expertise by giving a try in the ‘real’ political arena. Magogo is said to be bidding to stand as the Member of Parliament for Budiope East in the upcoming 2021 General elections. The seat is currently occupied by Dhamuzungu Geoffrey.

We are yet to ascertain the political party affiliation of Magogo but we promise to keep you updated.

Politically, Magogo will be a ‘baby’ but administratively he has made his mark in the local football governing body. One of his most notable achievements was being at the helm of FUFA when Uganda Cranes returned to the AFCON Finals after 38-years of waiting.

The Cranes made a successive appearance again this year and went on to qualify for the round of 16 after 41 years.
