The ruling NRM presidential candidate Yoweri Museveni has said that politicians playing politics of age instead of ideas are misleading Ugandans.

Museveni says NRM has been winning elections because they prioritize people’s needs and not identity. He explains that the moment you focus identity as a main point, you can’t get enough support to win the national elections.

“When you begin to see people emphasizing young and old, you just know that they are confusing. We are not studying Biology. We are in a competition of ideas. Ideas are never old or young,” says Museveni.

He adds, “Wisdom is better than strength. Apart from the idea of emphasizing people’s needs, we had to emphasize Wisdom is better than strength. We did that by respecting private property and liberalization.”

He insists that campaigns are about the message and not about gatherings.

This is the second day Museveni is campaigning in the West Nile sub region and today he’s in Nebbi.
