Dr. Sudhir inducted into Uganda Development Champions Journal for role in nation building

Business magnate Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia is set to be inducted into the 2024/2025 Uganda Development Champions Journal by Public Opinions International. This honor recognizes his hard work and contributions to Uganda’s development.

Sudhir, who was one of the inductees for the 2022 Uganda Great Leaders Who’s Who Hall of Fame, by Public Opinions for his significant contributions to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and Uganda Vision 2040, is now being celebrated for his impactful role in transforming Uganda’s social and economic development.

The 2022 induction also included President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, His Majesty Ronald Muwenda Mutebi, and 37 others.

Sudhir’s legacy of success, philanthropy, and leadership spans decades. His journey began in 1985 when he returned to Uganda with $25,000 he earned from various jobs in the UK. He then started the Ruparelia Group, which has grown into Uganda’s largest business conglomerate, with interests in banking, insurance, education, broadcasting, real estate, floriculture, and hotels and resorts.

Sudhir is also a prominent investor in the education sector. His investments include Kampala Parents School (KPS), Kampala International School Uganda (KISU), Delhi Public School International (DPSI), and Victoria University Kampala (VU).

Through his work, he has driven economic growth, created employment opportunities, and spearheaded investment in key sectors, benefiting the country as a whole.

He has built strong relationships with the Ugandan government, collaborating on projects aimed at uplifting the nation’s economy and its people.

Sudhir’s legacy extends beyond his business success; he is also a nation-builder. He has inspired countless Ugandan entrepreneurs, stimulated economic growth, and laid the groundwork for future prosperity.

Sudhir’s induction into the Uganda Development Champions Journal shows the lasting impact he has had on Uganda’s development, both through his entrepreneurial ventures and as a fitting tribute to a man who has consistently demonstrated commitment and support to the country’s progress.

About Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia

Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia is the founder and chairman of the Ruparelia Foundation.

Born in 1956 in Kabatoro, Kasese District, he returned to Uganda in 1985 with $25,000 after working various jobs in the UK. He founded Crane Forex Bureau, Uganda’s first forex bureau, and has since built a diverse business portfolio, including real estate, insurance, hospitality, and education through the Ruparelia Group of Companies.

He has received numerous accolades, including the Golden Jubilee Presidential Medal and an Honorary Doctorate of Laws from Uganda Pentecostal University.

Sudhir is married to Jyotsna, and they have three children: Meera, Sheena, and Rajiv.
