Sheebah Karungi is without a doubt one of the biggest artistes in Uganda right now as she has consistently dominated the music industry in the past five years or so.

The Karma Queen has registered numerous successes over the years releasing hits that have topped charts in the region and on the continent, winning several awards in the process.

Sheebah has collaborated on several projects with top musicians on the continent, pushing Ugandan music beyond our borders. It is on this musical form, consistency and prowess that have made BBC name her on the list of top five African stars to watch come next year.

Compiled by BBC’s DJ Edu, the list includes other African stars like Joeboy from Nigeria, Brian Nadra from Kenya, Innoss’B of Democratic Republic of Congo and Sho Madjozi from South Africa.

At Matooke Republic, we pride ourselves in supporting our musicians to do great, and we wish Sheebah all the best come next year.
