With just two weeks to his 50 Years of Greatness concert, Mesach Semakula received a show of support from fellow musicians and members of Uganda’s entertainment industry at a press engagement held at Papaz Spot in Makindye on Thursday, 29 October 2026.

The gathering brought together artistes, socialites, sponsors including I&M Bank Uganda Limited, and members of the media, as Semakula stepped up preparations for his November 13 concert at Kingdom Kampala.

The event took on a cultural feel, with guests turning up in traditional attire, including gomesis for the ladies and kanzus for the men.

Among those who came out to support Semakula were Spice Diana, David Lutalo, Ronald Mayinja and Karole Kasita, alongside other personalities from the entertainment industry.

For Semakula, the concert is a chance to celebrate his 50th birthday with the people who have been part of his journey, and to give fans an evening of the music that has kept him in the industry for decades.

Speaking at the press engagement, the singer expressed gratitude to his fans, fellow artistes and everyone who has supported him over the years. He said the concert would be an opportunity to celebrate that support while giving his audience a performance to remember.

“I am grateful to God for bringing me this far, and to everyone who has been part of my journey. My fans have stood with me through the years, and I do not take that support for granted. This concert is my way of celebrating with them and thanking them for the love they have shown me,” Semakula said.

He said preparations were underway for the show and urged fans to look forward to a night of live music and familiar songs.

“I am ready to meet my fans on November 13. I want them to come and enjoy themselves, sing along and celebrate with me. We have come a long way together, and I want this to be a night we will all remember,” he added.

The presence of fellow musicians at Papaz Spot added to the build-up to the concert, with the artistes turning up to show their support for one of Uganda’s established music figures.

“Papa Mesach Semakula has inspired many artistes over the years. His music has touched generations and continues to resonate with both the young and the old. We can’t wait to join him on November 13 to celebrate his journey,” Karole Kasita said.

For I&M Bank Uganda, the official bank partner of the concert, the involvement reflects its commitment to supporting Ugandan talent and experiences that bring people together.

Annette Nakiyaga, the bank’s Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications, said Semakula’s career and the relationships he has built along the way made the milestone worth celebrating.

“Mesach has been part of Uganda’s music story for many years. His songs have accompanied people through different moments in their lives, and his journey speaks to the importance of consistency, passion and staying connected to the people who support you. We are proud to stand with him as he celebrates this important milestone,” Nakiyaga said.

She added that the partnership speaks to the bank’s On Your Side promise, which extends beyond banking to supporting the ambitions and experiences that matter to its customers.

“At I&M Bank, being On Your Side means being present in the things that matter to our customers and communities. Music brings people together, creates lasting memories and gives our artistes a platform to share their talent. Supporting this concert is one of the ways we continue to celebrate Ugandan talent and the experiences that connect us,” she said.

Tickets for Mesach Semakula Live in 50 Years of Greatness concert are on sale at Shs 150,000 for ordinary access, Shs 3 million for VIP tables and Shs 5 million for premium tables.
