Victoria University brought cultures to life during the UG International Cultural Fusion held on Saturday, December 14, at the university’s auditorium.
Under the theme “Unity in Diversity,” the event celebrated the rich cultural heritage of Uganda and beyond, providing a vibrant platform to showcase talent, traditions, and unity among diverse communities.
The auditorium was alive with the rhythmic sounds of traditional music from across Africa, including Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania, Sudan, South Sudan, Congo, and Angola.
Students proudly donned their cultural attire, transforming the venue into a colorful display of diversity.
The cultural fusion event served as an opportunity for students from different backgrounds to share their traditions through music, dance, fashion, and cuisine.
A highlight of the day was the captivating fashion show, where participants modeled stunning traditional attire from various regions of Uganda and other nations, demonstrating both elegance and cultural pride.
Speaking at the event, Victoria University’s Dean of Students, Winniefred Nassiwa, explained the significance of cultural exchange.
“This event is about celebrating our cultural diversity while bringing students and the community together to learn and appreciate one another’s traditions through art, music, and food,” she stated.
The UG International Cultural Fusion not only highlighted the beauty of Africa’s diverse narratives but also created a welcoming environment for all students, making them feel connected to their roots.
