Victoria University Kampala has opened applications for the Rajiv Memorial Scholarships, a new programme offering 100 fully funded Master’s scholarships to outstanding graduates from its Class of 2025.
The scholarships, funded by the Ruparelia Family under the Ruparelia Foundation, honour the memory of the late Rajiv Ruparelia who was Managing Director and Promoter of Victoria University. They will be awarded under the university’s July/August 2026 intake, giving qualifying graduates a direct route into postgraduate study without the financial burden of tuition.
The programme is open exclusively to Victoria University’s Class of 2025, and only to top academic performers. Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree from the university, demonstrate a minimum CGPA of 4.3 (Second Class Upper or better), and have a clean disciplinary record with no history of examination malpractice. Preference will be given to those with strong final-year research work, conference presentations or innovation projects.
Beyond academics, the university is looking for evidence of leadership — through student government, clubs, entrepreneurship, volunteerism or community service — backed by a recommendation letter from a Dean or Head of Department attesting to the applicant’s integrity and leadership ability.
Successful scholars will be expected to serve as Research or Tutorial Assistants supporting Work Integrated Learning each trimester, maintain their CGPA throughout the programme, attend all seminars and graduate training sessions, and participate in mentorship and outreach activities. They must also submit trimester progress reports and complete their Master’s, including a dissertation of publishable quality, within two academic years.
Victoria University says the selection process will be guided by transparency and accountability, with the university committing to gender balance, support for students with disabilities, and fair representation across all faculties.
Applicants are required to submit the official application form, their Victoria University admission letter, academic documents, an updated CV, a personal statement and a recommendation letter — all sent to scholarships@vu.ac.ug. The Office of the Vice Chancellor is encouraging early applications ahead of the deadline of 22 July 2026.
