The Guinness Matchday truck rolled into Kampala Rugby Grounds for the SMACK League’s pool stage finale, held on Sunday, May 3.
It was the second time the truck rolled into the league outing, giving Premier League fans the ultimate Guinness Matchday on Tour experience.
With the venue still recovering from a recent closure and yet to install amenities like TVs, football fans who would have had to leave the venue prematurely to go and catch action elsewhere were saved the burden.
On a giant HD screen, fans caught the Manchester United vs Liverpool Super Sunday classic.
The Red Devils secured Champions League football next season as Kobbie Mainoo’s strike earned a thrilling 3-2 victory over old rivals Liverpool.
United were 2-0 up inside 15 minutes on Sunday through Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko, but imploded after the break to allow Arne Slot’s men to level with goals from Dominik Szoboszlai and Cody Gakpo before Mainoo secured the win.
The Matchday was engaging, with Guinness elevating the experience through bottle offers at discounted prices, while fans also walked away with branded prizes courtesy of Matchday Minutes.
Guinness Brand Manager- Denise Paula Nazzinda emphasized that the experience at the SMACK was just a glimpse of what’s to come during the Premier League season finale.
“The 2025/26 Premier League season has been thrilling, and it’s likely to go down to the wire. That’s why on Sunday, May 24, Guinness will host the season finale Matchday On Tour at Millennium Grounds in Lugogo. We have a lot planned, including exciting entertainment and a wide range of engaging activities for everyone to enjoy,” she said adding that activations will continue across different outlets and venues.
The SMACK League after-party was crowned by performances from DJ Bugy, DJ Dexter, and hype MC Olgadax.
The fixtures and schedule for the knock-out stage of the competition will be shared soon.
