Hundreds of runners and fitness enthusiasts took part in the 2026 edition of the Kyambogo Ultra Run on Saturday, May 2nd, at Kyambogo University grounds.
The race once again brought together people of different abilities and experience levels in a strong display of community and determination. This year’s focus also included a stronger push for inclusion, especially support for students with disabilities at the university.
The event, a pioneer ultra race in the country, featured 50km, 25km and 10km categories.
Tusker Lite partnered with the event for the third consecutive year, continuing its involvement in Uganda’s growing running culture. The brand has maintained a strong presence in the race space through various events across the country.
Speaking at the event, Tusker Lite Brand Manager- Sandra Againe said the brand’s investment in running has played a role in the growth of the sport in Uganda.
“We’ve seen the running culture grow in Uganda thanks to Tusker Lite,” she said, adding that the brand’s continued presence at races is driven by its long-standing commitment to championing active lifestyles.
“Tusker Lite has heavily invested in marathons for a very long time now. Today, it’s a no-brainer that we are here sponsoring this run,” she said, stating that events like their flagship platform Tusker Lite Mt Rwenzori Marathon, Virunga Marathon, and Gulu City Marathon have benefited from their partnership.
Againe noted that the brand’s approach went beyond sponsorship to creating a full event experience.
“Today what we brought was an experience. We’ve elevated the mood at the event with a lifestyle angle, including premium Tusker Lite refreshments and music,” she said. Againe also encouraged runners and fitness enthusiasts to take part in the upcoming Tusker Lite Neon Run scheduled for Friday May 8 at Circuit Lounge, Kololo.
