Ten years after Kibun’omu first introduced many listeners to his distinctive sound, Kenneth Mugabi is bringing the music, the memories and the people who have journeyed with him together for one special night.

This Saturday, September 12, Mugabi takes over Ndere Cultural Centre for a concert that promises to be as much about the fans as it is about the man on stage. The concert will also double as a birthday celebration for the singer, giving fans even more reason to make their way to Ndere for a night of music.

The show, powered by V&A Sherry, is meant to be an occasion to share and savour moments to the sound of the soulful Kenneth Mugabi.

Speaking ahead of the concert, Roy Ronald Tumwizere, Brand Manager for V&A Sherry, said Mugabi’s music makes the evening an easy one to look forward to.

“If there is anyone ready to entertain, it is Kenneth Mugabi. As V&A, we are proud to be part of this 10-year journey, but for me, this is also personal because I am a fan of his music. There is something special about seeing an artist reach this point and still have people who want to sing along to the songs that have been part of their lives.”

For fans, the night will bring together some of Mugabi’s most loved songs, from Sanyu and Nkwengomba to Naki, among others- music that has travelled beyond the stage and found a place in playlists, memories and quiet moments shared along the way.

To add to the anticipation, Mugabi has promised a surprise appearance from an East African music legend. The guest’s identity remains under wraps, giving those attending one more reason to be in the room when the music starts.

V&A Sherry will also bring its own experience to the evening, with signature serves and special cocktails creating a setting for guests to settle in, catch up and savour the night. For couples looking for a different kind of Saturday date, soulful music, good company and a V&A glass in hand make Ndere a compelling place to be.

After ten years of making music, Mugabi is bringing the people who have listened, sung along and grown with his music into the next chapter.

With a birthday, a decade of Kibun’omu, a surprise guest and a catalogue of songs that have stayed with people, this is one of those nights that may be better experienced than heard about afterwards or witnessed live on the gram.

Gates open at 5 pm at Ndere Cultural Centre. Tickets are Shs 100,000, while tables go for Shs 3 million. Tickets and table bookings are available at kennethmugabi.com.
