Victoria University has ranked second among Uganda’s universities in the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE)’s revised institutional ranking, scoring 87.4 points.
The university trails Makerere University, which scored 88.9 points, while Kampala International University came third with 85.8 points.
The ranking comes as Victoria University prepares to hold its 10th graduation ceremony on Tuesday, 20 October 2026, marking a decade of academic development and professional training.
According to the NCHE report, Victoria University has 14,113 students enrolled across 66 academic programmes, with an average of 128.7 students per programme. The regulator placed the institution in the “Leading” performance category.
The assessment considers seven areas: student enrolment, programme viability, graduate training, gender balance, participation in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), female participation in STEM, and curriculum relevance.
Established in 2013, Victoria University is a private institution chartered by the NCHE and part of the Ruparelia Group.
