Uganda Cranes captain Geoffrey Massa yesterday announced his retirement from international football. From that shot that tore the net at Namboole to leading Uganda Cranes as captain at African Cup of Nations, Massa will be always remembered in heart of the fans.

Massa first made himself known on the national team in 2006 when Cranes played Lesotho at Namboole stadium. He scored a brace and made a penalty assist in a 3-0 win.

Another unforgettable exceptional performance from the solid striker came in 2012 during the 2013 nation’s qualifiers against Congo Brazzaville again at Namboole. The striker scored a rocket- like- stunner that tore the net leaving the whole football fraternity marveling how he did it.

In September 2015 Afcon qualifiers, Massa tormented visitors Guinea hence scoring a brace. This gave Cranes hopes of qualifying until the last day when we finally bowed out of the competition. In the same year, Massa was appointed the national team captain and he captained team to the historic 2017 Afcon Gabon.
