Central Police Station in Kampala arrested renowned dancer Ritah Dancehall, real name Ritah Kaggwa Namayega, for allegedly criticizing Spice Diana’s performance during her Siri Regular concert that happened on January 13 at Lugogo Cricket Oval.

Following the concert, a section on social media came out and applauded Spice Diana’s stage setup but were critical of her live performance, with some saying the singer didn’t sing well.

Ritah Dancehall was one of those who spoke against the singer’s performance.

A day later, she came out claiming that Spice’s manager, Roger Lubega, was threatening to kill her because of her comments about the concert.

Spice Diana, through her Snapchat, fired back at the negative critics, thereby reminding them that she is not Celine Dion or Beyonce, before telling those who wanted perfection to go to her YouTube channel and listen to her recorded songs.

Now a video clip of the dancer at the police station is making the rounds on social media. Reports indicate that Spice and her manager ordered the arrest.

Sources reveal that Spice and the manager are accusing the dance of defamation and are demanding Shs100 million in compensation.

For starters, for one to sue for defamation, he/she must prove that the statement against them was false. After filing the case, one must prove that the statement caused injury. “Injury” can mean a damaged reputation, lost work, emotional distress, and other potential damages.

Meanwhile, there are mixed reactions to Spice’s decision to get the dancer arrested.

Little Joe, a radio host, has asked Spice Diana and her manager Roger to stop making music if they don’t want to be talked about.

“Manager Roger and your artist (Spice Diana), if you don’t want people to talk about you, stop doing music,” said Little Joe.

Sheebah Karungi took to her official Instagram page and posted a video of her and Ritah. She captioned it, “She vibes.”

Sheebah then shared another photo of her and the dancer, in which she said that by the time she shared the video, she was not aware that the dancer was behind the bars.

“Weird Fact: When I posted the video of me and one of my favorite dancers, Ritah Dancell Wide, I had no idea what was happening (honestly, I am still in shock). I am sad that it had to get that far because I personally don’t think it should have gotten that far. I still think there could’ve been a better way to settle this other than jail,” wrote Sheebah.

“But then again, maybe that’s just me. Let me make a phone call and see if there’s any way we can solve this as mature, kind, and respectful humans,” she added.
