More than 24 people have stepped forward for DNA tests to find out if they are biological children of the late music legend Prince Paul Kafeero.
The tests come after his body was exhumed on Monday, June 1, so samples could be collected to settle a paternity dispute that has been going on for over 20 years.
For years, different people have claimed to be Kafeero’s children. The claims have sparked family arguments and public debate, but nothing was ever proven.
The recent DNA exercise is meant to end the speculation and give clear answers once and for all.
The samples have been taken to the Government Analytical Laboratory and the Uganda Police Forensic Laboratory for testing. Once the results are out, they are expected to confirm who is really related to the Kadongo Kamu star and who is not.
Kafeero’s brother, Omukunja Mugerwa, was present after the exercise. He said he welcomes the process because it will finally bring out the truth.
According to him, settling this matter will bring peace to the family and put to rest stories that have circulated for decades.
