DNA test results have confirmed that only four of the 25 people who claimed to be children of late Kadongo Kamu legend Paul Job Kafeero are his biological offspring.
The findings were officially released on Thursday by the Police Forensic Directorate at Police Headquarters in Naguru, bringing an end to years of uncertainty and speculation surrounding the celebrated musician’s family. The confirmed children are: Kafeero Bendicto, Kafeero Simon Peter, Kafeero Thomas, and Nagawa Elizabeth.
The DNA verification exercise was conducted under the supervision of Minister of Local Government Balaam Barugahara, Director of Forensics Andrew Mubiru, and Director of the Government Analytical Laboratory Kepher Kuchana Kateu.
For years, numerous individuals publicly claimed to be Kafeero’s children, leading to family disputes and widespread public interest. The competing claims fuelled debates among relatives, fans, and members of the public, but none had been backed by scientific evidence until now.
The newly released DNA results have provided the first conclusive verification of the claims, confirming that only four individuals are biologically related to the late musician.
Authorities say the exercise was intended to establish the truth and resolve the long-running paternity questions that have surrounded Kafeero’s estate and family lineage since his death.
