Yesterday, the Ministry of Health confirmed 31 new coronavirus (COVID-19) cases from 1,116 tests. All the 31 confirmed cases are Ugandans of which 23 are truck drivers from the points of entry and eight are contacts to previously confirmed truck drivers.

The Ministry says that the contacts were under quarantine at the time of testing. This takes the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 253, with 69 recoveries and no deaths recorded yet.

The Ministry says that 20 positive foreign truck drivers (16 Tanzanians and 4 Kenyans) were handed over to their country of origin and that samples from the community and contacts were 220.
