A man has threatened to sue Fraine Supermarket, Ntinda branch, for allegedly including a ‘wrong’ love note in a gift package he delivered to his wife.

Augustine Kyoobe, represented by Mukiibi, Nakitende, and Company Advocates, claims that on Valentine’s Day, he purchased a pre-packed gift hamper for his wife from Fraine Supermarket, Ntinda branch, for Shs140,100. The package contained items such as balloons, chocolate, champagne, wine, and a teddy bear.

Upon presenting the gift to his wife at their home in Najeera Buwaate around 6:30 PM, she discovered a love note inside that Kyoobe claims he did not write or authorize. This unexpected note led to an argument, with the wife accusing Kyoobe of infidelity. Despite his explanations, she left the matrimonial home, leaving Kyoobe to care for their eight-month-old baby and five-year-old child alone.

The lawyers argue that the supermarket’s negligence caused emotional distress and disrupted the family. They demand a written apology in a widely circulated newspaper and compensation of Shs5 million for the mental and emotional strain endured by the family. Additionally, they request reimbursement for daycare expenses until the wife returns home or agrees to alternate childcare responsibilities.

The lawyers set a seven-day deadline for the supermarket to comply with their demands, warning of legal action if they fail to do so.
