17-year-old girl in Kanungu stabs elder sister to death over a lover

They say blood is thicker than water but for one teenage girl in Kanungu, no force is greater than the love for her man.



The blood sisters got into an fight on Saturday night with the suspect, a seventeen year old (names withheld) accusing her elder sister Gift Asiimwe of running away with her lover Gideon Natukunda. In the heat of the fight, the attacker allegedly grabbed at a knife and stabbed her elder sister (Asiimwe) in the neck.

Asiimwe died while she was being rushed to Bwindi Community Hospital in Kayonza Sub-county. The suspect who is a mobile money agent in Kanyantorogo Trading Centre fled the scene and is being hunted by cops at Kihiki police station.

Paddy Tumwendeze Rwozi, the Officer in Charge of Criminal Investigations Department at Kihihi police station, confirmed the incident.

“We’re hunting for the suspect and we have started immediate investigations into the incident,” said Rwozi.

The sisters are residents of Rutwe cell in Kanyantorogo Sub County in Kanungu District.
