Mukono Municipality Member of Parliament Betty Nambooze has claimed that the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) has turned everything in the country upside down.

Nambooze said the current regime is shamelessly exploiting Ugandans and Uganda at large for selfish reasons. She stated that violence and corruption have become a ‘new normal’ for the regime.

“NRM is a home for sinners. There are people who have murdered, swindled government money and some of them don’t have credentials. They survive on captive support,” Nambooze said before admitting that it’s very hard being a candidate on the Opposition side in Uganda.

The legislator stated that the regime has militarized everything in Uganda including elections.

“Elections are not for political contest, it is a struggle to liberate ourselves,” Nambooze said.

She added, “If the only tool you have in your hands, everything you see you think it’s a nail.”
