Following a move by government to give cash handouts to the vulnerable people whose livelihoods have been affected by the current lockdown, the Covid Task force resolved to give each affected person a sum of Shs.100.000.

The budget for Covid Relief fund is Shs.53 billion translating into 500,000 vulnerable households and Ushs 100,000 per household.
With the government known for borrowing and many wondering where it’s going to get the money from ,the Minister for Finance Hon. Matia Kasaijja has said that this time round he won’t borrow.

“This time round I am not borrowing, we are going to suppress items. For things like conferences that have to be held, we shall have to do them virtually. During our time in the bush, we improvised,” said Kasaijja.
