Police in Nansana are currently guarding Kasirye Faizo, a 26-year-old bricklayer from Kazinga – Nsumbi in Nansana municipality, after he attempted suicide by burning himself.

The incident occurred when he was rejected by a married woman with three children, Namakula Nally Deborah.

According to the police, Kasirye had been stalking Namakula for several years, despite knowing that she is in a committed relationship with Ssenabulya Michael.

On July 23, at around 11 pm, he once again faced rejection when he approached Namakula, who was with her two friends at Meeting Point Bar in Kamukamu for a music show.

After the show, Namakula took a boda boda around 2 am to return home. The following day, residents found Kasirye in a dire condition. He had poured paraffin on himself and set himself on fire as a result of the love rejection.

His whole body suffered severe burns, with the skin fully peeled off. He was rescued by Kyebando Police and rushed to Mulago Hospital for medical attention.

Once Kasirye is discharged from the hospital, he will be arraigned in court to face potential legal consequences for his actions.

Meanwhile, the police have urged individuals to seek help, take control of their emotions, and find healthy ways to heal from emotional setbacks.
