Police in Kampala are searching for Ronnie Mulindwa, the former manager of music group Obsessions, after a raid uncovered what detectives say was an online prostitution and adult streaming business operating from a building in the city.

The operation was led by the Directorate of Crime Intelligence. When officers entered the apartment in Mbalwa, Namugongo Division, they found 27 young women inside.

Investigators say the women were being stripped and filmed for live streaming platforms aimed at foreign viewers.

Police say the women had been recruited from Mukono, Kampala, Lyantonde, Wakiso, Masaka, and parts of Busoga.

According to police, Mulindwa ran the operation with two others: Martin Male and a woman identified only as Zeisha. All three are now on the run.

Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Rachel Kawala confirmed that investigations are ongoing and efforts to arrest the suspects have intensified.

“We have also arrested a security guard who was guarding the location,” Kawala said.

During the raid, officers also arrested Vivian Gobera, whom police identified as Mulindwa’s girlfriend. She told investigators that women who were recruited were given new names so family and friends wouldn’t recognize them online.

She revealed that the operation mainly targeted clients in Western countries, and that the streams were blocked in Uganda and other East African countries to avoid detection.

Police say several of the women they found told investigators they were paid in US dollars and earned decent amounts of money through the streams.

Investigators also found that the operation went beyond online work. Some of the women were hired out to entertain wealthy clients at private parties in Kampala, Wakiso, and Mukono. Others were reportedly sent to high-end hotels to entertain guests.

The 27 women are in custody as police continue to track down Mulindwa, Male, and Zeisha.
