Tunisian football giants Club Africain have officially unveiled Uganda Cranes defender Kenneth Ssemakula as their latest signing.

Ssemakula has signed a two-year deal with the North African club, bringing an end to intense speculation following his departure from Uganda Premier League record champions, Sports Club Villa.

Ssemakula captained SC Villa last season and was a strong pillar in a youthful team that guided the club to their 17th Uganda Premier League (UPL) title, which came after two decades of waiting.

The versatile defender, who has played for BUL FC and Busoga United, has been on an upward trajectory for the past few years, consistently featuring for the Uganda Hippos (U-20) team that reached the Africa Cup of Nations in Mauritania in 2021.

After such performances, he was elevated to the senior Uganda Cranes team. He played in the last two Cranes fixtures of the World Cup qualifiers last month.

Meanwhile, his move to Tunisia makes him join a list of other Ugandan players who have played in the Tunisian league, including Yunus Sentamu, Jackson Mayanja, Richard Kasaga, and Emmanuel Okwi.
