Singer Fille Mutoni is opening up about her own struggles with mental health.

Depression is a mental disorder that has been on the rise over the years. In 2017, World Health Organization (WHO), ranked Uganda among the top six countries with the highest number of people suffering from depressive disorders in Africa, with 4.6% of the population suffering from it.

With life’s challenges, many people have found themselves victims of depression, including our celebrities.

In 2020, Fille was reportedly taken to a rehabilitation center in Entebbe over drug abuse.

Fille revealed in an interview with her baby daddy, Mc Kats, that she was extremely disappointed in some of her fellow creatives for not supporting her when she was suffering from depression.

According to Fille, she was surprised that the musicians she didn’t consider helping were the ones who contacted her in these trying circumstances while the people she considered friends were silent.

She mentioned that the only musicians who significantly aided her in overcoming depression were Rema Namakula, Nina Roz, and Maureen Nantume.

The singer urged society to stop stigmatizing people who use drugs and not classify them as thugs.

Fille further requested that the Ministry of Health acknowledge mental health as a serious challenge because it is deeper than just using drugs.
