Renowned socialite Zari Hassan has shared the details of how she met her husband, Shakib Lutaaya. In an interview on NTV’s Mwasuze Mutya show this morning, Zari revealed that their paths crossed in South Africa, where Lutaaya resided in Pretoria at the time.
Recalling their initial encounter, Zari admitted that it was not an easy journey. Shakib approached her and expressed his feelings, which took her by surprise.
However, due to family dynamics, they chose to keep their relationship private in the early stages.
“But later we made it public,” Zari revealed.
Zari revealed that initially, her children had reservations about her relationship with Shakib. However, upon witnessing the strong bond and happiness shared between them, her children had a change of heart. They approached Shakib and kindly requested him to take good care of their mother.
According to Zari, Shakib had an established life before they met. Even after their marriage, they are not always together, and he visits when time allows or when she is free.
Regarding their Nikah ceremony that took place in April of this year, Zari expressed her surprise and admiration for Shakib’s initiative.
“He collaborated with a few friends to organize the marriage. I didn’t hesitate because I loved him. His courage completely shocked me. I didn’t expect him to pull off such a move,” she narrated.
Explaining her choice to request a Quran as Mahr (dowry), Zari shared that her decision was influenced by her spiritual journey with Allah. As her husband, Shakib, is devout in his prayers, she felt compelled to align herself spiritually. She also mentioned that he often reminds her to pray when he’s not around.
Addressing the recent leaked audio clip in which she referred to her husband as a ‘Fala’ (someone with limited knowledge), Zari defended herself, clarifying that her intentions were not to shame or disrespect her husband. She explained that her desire was for the husband to join her in the UK, and obtaining a visa was proving to be challenging. Zari emphasized that private conversations among women about their husbands are common, expressing disappointment in the betrayal she experienced from someone she believed to be a friend.
