Shakib Cham Lutaaya has broken his silence on his reported split from socialite Zari Hassan, revealing that he found out about the separation through social media.
Earlier on Friday, Zari announced that her relationship with Shakib had come to an end. In a statement shared on her social media platforms, she said the couple had decided to part ways after five years together due to irreconcilable differences.
The statement described the breakup as a mutual decision reached after careful reflection and noted that the two would continue to maintain mutual respect despite ending their relationship.
However, Shakib’s response has raised questions about whether the announcement was made with his knowledge.
Speaking in an interview with Galaxy FM shortly after the statement was published, Shakib said he was surprised to see the announcement and only learned about it after it had been posted online.
“I also woke up and saw the message just like you did. I’ve been busy, so I haven’t analysed the message yet, but when I settle, I will analyse it well and see what’s up,” he said.
His remarks appear to contradict the statement’s suggestion that the separation had been jointly agreed upon and communicated by both parties.
Zari and Shakib had been together for about five years and formalised their relationship through a private Nikkah ceremony in 2023, attended by close family members.
