Last night, Police with the help of Local Defence Unit (LDU) fired gunshots at Masitowa Stage in Nansana with the intention of dispersing a crowd that was gathered to cheer on Kyadondo East legislator Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine.

Unfortunately, a one Daniel Kyeyune was shot in the process by a suspected LDU officer and died on the spot. Police has now decided to take full charge of the burial proceedings of Kyeyune.

According to a source, one of the Police officers on the rank of Special Police Constable, is an uncle to Kyeyune, and this is why the force has decided to take charge of his final send-off.

What motorists should expect under the new Express Penalty System and speed limit reforms as speeding fines are harmonised to Shs160,000 and payment window extended to 28 days from 72 hours

This comes as youth pressure group People Power continue to claim that Kyeyune was one of their members, and demand to take charge of his burial, same way they did for Ritah Nabukenya who died on Monday in an accident in Nakawa that is still surrounded with different accounts of how it actually happened.

Police are not taking chances this time, and have already communicated that no People Power leader or supporter will be allowed to attend the burial of Kyeyune, as investigations into the shooting are going on.

As investigations go on, it is alleged by an eye witness that a group of people pelted Police with stones and making noise, and this is what prompted them to fire gunshots and teargas. Police also say that one of their officers was injured in the fracas.
