Police have arrested a 41-year-old man suspected of being involved in the murder of legendary Afrigo Band singer Moses Matovu.
The suspect has been identified as Nsamba Vincent, who was arrested in Ochange Ward, Yesu Amala, Nansana Division in Wakiso District.
Nsamba was arrested following investigations into the circumstances surrounding Matovu’s death.
Police said investigations are still ongoing to establish what happened and identify any other people who may have been involved in the musician’s murder.
The suspect is expected to face further questioning as detectives continue with the investigation.
Matovu was killed on 24 September 2026 at Kibuli Depot in Makindye Division, Kampala District.
Preliminary investigations indicate that at about 5:30 a.m., Matovu went to the residence of his girlfriend, Rose Tumusiime. It is alleged that as the two were leaving the residence, they were confronted by Nsamba Vincent, who is also alleged to have previously been in a relationship with Tumusiime.
Matovu sustained serious injuries during the incident and was rushed to Kibuli Hospital by a boda boda rider. He later succumbed to his injuries.
