Vipers SC players are set for a big payout after winning the Uganda Premier League title for the second year in a row.
On Tuesday, Vipers beat Maroons FC 3-0 at Wankulukuku to seal the 2024/25 league title. It’s the club’s eighth league crown and their second consecutive win.
Club president Lawrence Mulindwa promised the squad Shs 300 million if they defended the title. The players will now share that money among themselves.
This is not the first reward this season. Mulindwa had already given the team Shs 50 million for finishing top at the end of the first round.
Vipers will also get Shs 60 million in prize money from FUFA for winning the league.
With the title secured, Vipers will represent Uganda in next season’s CAF Champions League. There, they will compete for over Shs 2 billion in prize money, depending on how far they progress in the tournament.
