Police have recovered all six laptop computers stolen from the Bank of Uganda offices on Kampala Road after arresting two more suspects believed to be part of the theft ring.
The laptops were stolen during a break-in at the central bank offices on the night of 3 May 2026, prompting an intensive police investigation.
Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire said detectives had initially arrested two suspects and recovered two of the stolen laptops. Further investigations later led to the arrest of two additional suspects and the recovery of the remaining four laptops.
All six laptops have now been recovered and are being kept as exhibits as investigations continue.
The suspects in custody have been identified as Kule Boaz Micheal, Kabuya Ramathan alias Rama, Lubangakene Isaac Izoo and Oedo Jorem Jude.
Police said the suspects are expected to appear before the Buganda Road Chief Magistrate’s Court once legal procedures are completed.
They are expected to face charges including office breaking, theft, receiving stolen property and retaining stolen property.
