Some action from Fort Portal yesterday.

Local football giant, Kampala City Council Authority Football Club on Tuesday suffered a shock Stanbic Uganda Cup elimination at the hands of Tooro United.

KCCA played the knockout fixture away at the Fort Portal-based Bahinga Stadium with hopes of recovering from the Sunday continental competition exit at the hands of AS Otoho from Congo Brazzaville.

To their dismay, Tooro United has instead added salt to KCCA FC’s wounds by eliminating the Kasasiro boys on penalties. The game ended 3-1 after Captain Timothy Awany, Hassan Musana and Allan Okello failed to convert their spots for the defending champions.

After the game, KCCA gaffer Mike Mutebi said his side now needs to recover and take on the challenge ahead – winning the Startimes Uganda Premier League.

“We now have a tough challenge to win the league. And it’s a mission we are ready to take on,” Mutebi said.
