Victoria University, renowned for its pioneering digital learning solutions, has now incorporated artificial intelligence (AI) into its academic modules, according to Vice Chancellor Dr. Lawrence Muganga.

In a Thursday interview on Next Radio’s morning show, Dr. Muganga highlighted that embracing AI not only modernizes education but also aligns with broader goals of sustainability and adaptability. “Education should find you where you are,” he emphasized, advocating for the integration of AI to enhance the learning experience and empower students with time for personal development and practical life experiences.

Victoria University, already fully digitalized, currently offers 15 hours of blended online classes per week. Dr. Muganga stated that the university’s philosophy is to “walk the talk,” implementing practical solutions within its own system to serve as a model for policymakers. By prioritizing practical skills over traditional theoretical knowledge, the university ensures that students are active participants in their learning journey rather than passive recipients of information.

Also, the university’s adoption of digital examinations has significantly reduced its carbon footprint, contributing to environmental conservation. Dr. Muganga, a proponent of proactive, practical-based solutions in education, believes that these initiatives position Victoria University at the forefront of modern, sustainable education practices.
